Weill Cornell Medicine | Sean Parker Institute for the Voice
Weill Cornell Medicine transformed underutilized space within a mixed-use building to establish the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice, a purpose-built destination for patients with vocal disorders.
The Sean Parker Institute for the Voice provides high-quality care for patients with voice disorders—ranging from actors and singers to teachers, public speakers, and individuals with routine vocal demands. Situated in a building with mixed residential and business zoning, the institute was relocated to a more convenient and discreet setting to improve access and privacy for patients.
Array converted existing clinical space into a state-of-the-art facility equipped with exam rooms, procedure rooms, speech pathology rooms, and acoustic/aerodynamic testing spaces. The design features virtually soundproof rooms to enable high-fidelity diagnosis and therapy without interference—essential for treating professional voice users. Additional amenities include a staff conference room and support areas to enhance care delivery.
A second component of the project involved creating new space for the Brain and Spine Center, enabling Weill Cornell to expand ENT services and co-locate them with the Sean Parker Institute in a single, integrated care environment. The project also freed capacity in the Greenberg Center.
