University Hospitals | Systemwide Facilities Master Plan
University Hospitals partnered with Array to develop a System-Wide Facilities Master Plan across 15 campuses, guiding strategic growth, capital investment, service alignment, and a 10-year roadmap for future care delivery.
University Hospitals engaged Array to develop a comprehensive System-Wide Facilities Master Plan across 15 campuses, including academic medical centers, community hospitals, and ambulatory sites. The effort supported UH’s long-term vision to improve quality, increase efficiency, strengthen Centers of Excellence, and expand its market position.
Array evaluated each existing building for future use, identifying obsolete facilities, redundant services, and opportunities to better align care delivery across the system. Through test-fit planning and strategic analysis, the team helped determine which services should remain, relocate, consolidate, or expand, as well as the optimal locations for new buildings.
The resulting plan provided a 10-year implementation roadmap, detailed budget, and enabling project strategy to guide future capital investment. It shaped a decade of development across four major new facilities totaling $500 million, improving connectivity, reducing wait times, and centralizing specialty care.
Among the plan’s most significant outcomes were a new Cancer Hospital and an all-private Level 3 NICU spanning three adjacent buildings, advancing UH’s ability to deliver specialized care within a more coordinated, future-ready campus framework.
