The Story

Faced with the challenge of entering a competitive market, Nemours needed to move quickly and strategically. Array’s Process-led design approach enabled the integrated project team to define goals, map user workflows, and test solutions before beginning spatial design. This "process-before-design" strategy focused on experience, outcomes, and operational efficiency, ultimately accelerating decision-making and maintaining alignment with both budget and schedule.

The collaborative design journey was deeply influenced by the perspectives of families, youth advisory councils, and clinicians. Mock-ups, visual programming, and simulation workshops allowed stakeholders to shape key features like pod-based clinic layouts, centralized support zones, and shared amenities. The final design achieves flexibility across disciplines while supporting high-volume specialties such as Neurology, Cardiology, and Surgery.
