Challenge
Focused on their mission to provide comprehensive community health management in the shifting healthcare landscape, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida sought to create an integrated medical home outpatient center.
Solution
Working closely with developer Anchor Health Properties, Array conducted Process-led design work sessions to engage stakeholders, define key goals and develop the patient and provider experience. Tools such as Empathy Mapping, Process Mapping, Virtual Mock-ups and Visual Programming allowed users and administrators to swiftly evaluate options and advance the project.
Result
A glass beacon anchors the building and promotes the medical fitness center model. The glass gently sweeps revealing the entry and guiding patients and visitors into a light-filled central arrival space. A fully re-designed registration and check-in process employs a one-stop concierge-style encounter allowing patients to focus on their visit. Integration among the physician practices; diagnostic and treatment services; and, the fitness center is championed though the Healthy Living program and promoted by the facility design, bringing together care coordination, education and integrative medicine.
